Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center
Formal gardens, grass/dirt parking lot and trails. Could be accessible at times when the ground is dry.
Cooper Mill
The first floor and restrooms are accessible; however the parking lot is gravel and may be difficult to maneuver. Seasonal schedule.
Flanders Valley Golf Course
This course follows the "90 rule" for mobility impaired persons. The restrooms and clubhouse are not physically accessible.
Fosterfields
The Living Historical Farm has a visitors center and restrooms that are accessible. The trails are grassy and/or rocky. On Sundays there is a shuttle bus provided to the historic house for greater access. A picture boook of the 2nd floor is available, since this floor is not accessible.
Frelinghuysen Arboretum
This is one of our most accessible sites. The Haggerty Education Center holds educational classes and other meetings and is fully accessible (i.e. elevator). This park also has a paved touring trail, a Braille Trail, raised-bed garden and gift shop.
Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center
This park is somewhat accessible although the parking area is not paved yet. There are paved trails and a bird blind which is accessible to the mobility impaired. It permits visitors to observe wildlife without being obtrusive.
Hedden Park
Another of the park's most accessible general purpose parks featuring paved trails, accessible restrooms, water fountain, picnic sites, fishing dock and summer concerts.
Lewis Morris Park
A general purpose park with picnic tables and restrooms. Accessible picnic tables are available at Deer Run and accessible restrooms are at Sunrise Lake. Other areas may be accessible with assistance.
Loantaka Brook Reservation
This park has a very accessible paved path that traverses almost 5 miles. Accessible restrooms are located at South Street and Kitchell Road. Some picnic tables have extended edges for mobility impaired visitors. A joint-use exercise cluster is located at the South Street area.
Mahlon Dickerson Reservation
There are several options for mobility impaired visitors at this park; however, the restrooms are not yet accessible. Some trailer campsites are paved.
Mennen Arena
The Arena offers many activities including craft and art shows, a circus, ice skating, hockey and more. Special education classes are also scheduled.
Old Troy Park
Picnic area and restrooms are accessible; however, there are steep inclines leading to restrooms.
Patriot's Path
This National Recreational Trail does have some paved sections. It is recommended that you obtain a map before visiting since all trail sections are not paved.
Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area
Inaccessible.
Schooley's Mountain Park
Although this park does have various activities to offer, the restrooms are currently inaccessible. There are 2-4 steps leading up to the restrooms.
Silas Condict Park
This park offers accessible picnic tables, restrooms and parking.
Sunset Valley Golf Course
This golf course follows the "90 rule" for mobility impaired persons. The restrooms and snack bar are accessible.
Tourne Park
There are accessible picnic sites and summer concerts at this park, but most of it remains inaccessible, as it is rocky and wooded. Some trails may be usable during dry seasons.
Traction Line
A 2-mile paved path that runs parallel to the New Jersey Transit Line railroad tracks from Morris Avenue in Morristown to Convent Road in Morris Township.
Willowwood Arboretum
The buildings are inaccessible due to their historical qualities. The paths on the grounds are grass/dirt and could be accessible when the ground is dry.
